For the 2nd year in a row, Sky Factory’s therapeutic illusions of nature are found in all Top 10 American hospitals ranked by U.S. News & World Report 2020-‘21.

SkyFactory Artificial Sky Lights are used in the US News and World Report's Top 10 hospitals.

According to U.S. News & World Report, in a typical year, U.S. hospitals admit an estimated 33 million patients with about half of them (17 million) requiring in-patient stays scheduled for at least one surgery. In terms of specialty services, the demand is even higher with about 600 million imaging procedures performed in the U.S.

Top tier hospitals like UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco and New York-Presbyterian, whose excellent care and reputation has earned them consistent top rankings, feature Sky Factory’s research-verified Luminous SkyCeilings in their facilities.

Other hospitals like the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa Bay, included in the Best Hospitals Honor Roll (the country’s Top 20 hospitals), feature Sky Factory’s Digital Cinema eScape. Included in the nurse station design, eScape offers full motion, video and audio of natural landscapes to enhance both staff and patient wellness.

Given the complexity of surgical procedures and other medical services, understanding which hospitals are the best in the country is a valuable service to the public. Therefore, in partnership with the Research Triangle Institute (RTI International), an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the human condition, U.S. News has set out a thorough methodology to evaluate the best healthcare in the country.

In 2020, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals using a number of tools, including the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) ratings, the American Hospital Association’s annual surveys, as well as other publicly available data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Sky Factory products have consistently appeared in the top rated hospitals for a number of years. In 2018-19, just three years after Sky Factory began to review and track the healthcare rankings, our research-verified virtual skylights and windows were found in 18 of the Top 20 Best American Hospitals.

U.S. News & World Report began its internationally recognized annual rankings in 2011.
