Riona Kurahashi Dental Clinic

For more than 30 years, the Riona Kurahashi Dental Clinic in Akashi City has integrated dental care within the larger scope of a patient’s overall health and well-being. Inspired by the ancient character for medicine (“Mai”), the clinic was designed to provide an optimal environment for healing and a meaningful connection to nature.

The new clinic installed a 4’ X 10’ (1.2m X 3m) Luminous SkyCeiling in the main reception. The virtual skylight’s view to a wide open blue sky open up the interior and enhances the modern office décor.

A mustard yellow, modular sofa in the middle of the room greets patients as they reach the reception and experience the skylight’s welcoming depth illusion.

The clinic’s calm and pleasant environment sets the right mood for diagnosis and treatment, allowing patients and their families to feel taken care of.
